Yesterday, I got my Christmas present from my mom and dad, my tattoo. It is the three snowflakes on my foot. I am absolutely in love with it. I think it turned out extremely well and couldn't be happier with it. Most people say, “Oh that's going to hurt” or “That's a painful place to get one,” but when it came down to it, it really didn't hurt like I thought it was going to. I was anticipating all this pain, but when he started, of course I wasn't expecting the initial stabbing feeling, however after like two lines I was okay with it. It was a very neat experience and now I have this lovely tattoo on my foot that I truly love. Thank you again Mom and Dad, this was a wonderful XMas present!

The Sweetest Thing

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/6988.aspx</trackback:ping>

I was very happy to see that he won, because not only can he dance, and dance all styles, he has the personality to back it up and be an awesome performer. He was originally paired with Donyelle who was also in the top four and his cousin Hiedi made it until then as well. He is an extremely talented dancer and I really think he's gonna make it big!! The show also did really well this summer, becoming America's number one summer show. That makes me happy because then at least I know it will be on again next summer!!

Fly By

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/6525.aspx</trackback:ping>

Well, it has been almost four months since I have been back in Inuvik and I cannot believe how fast it has gone. I only have 13 days left until I get back into Edmonton. I am getting so extremely excited and cannot wait, because after I leave on the 19th I most likely won't be coming back to Inuvik until possibly next summer. That makes me so excited. I hate having to leave everything behind and just pickup and move. Moving twice a year is very annoying, and stressful. Thank goodness I'm not going to be doing that as much anymore. Anyways, 13 days and counting down, I cannot wait!!!!

I QUIT SMOKING!!!

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/5108.aspx</trackback:ping>
Monday May 29th, I started the patch. My last smoke was sunday night at 10pm. I have now been on the patch for four days and I think that I am doing really well. I haven't touched a cigarette in four days, haven't smoked a cigarette in fours and I really want to keep going. The detoxing part has been extremely hard. Coughing up crap and sneezing and having to blow my nose like a million times a day is getting a little old, but for the most part it really isn't that bad. I haven't gotten as bitchy as I thought I would and although the cravings for a smoke come, they haven't taken over me and they haven't been as strong as I thought they would be. Last night I went for another jog, only for like 25 minutes, but I jogged the whole time and I can already start to feel my lungs working again. This is great!! I definitely know now, because of what I have been through in the last four days, that I will most likely not start smoking again. The coughing really hurts and I don't want to go through that again, plus the patch is rather annoying because every time it releases it's nicotine, my arm tingles and then goes numb. Wonderful feeling...not. So I'm going to keep going strong, and all of your encouragement would be greatly appreciated, and I'll keep everyone updated on my success as it happens!!

Workout started!!

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/4806.aspx</trackback:ping>
So, my summer mission to get into shape again has started! Last night my friend Amanda, her boyfriend Mike and I walked for prolly 45minutes, which I thought was okay. Tonight, however, was friggin awesome. My friend Adjala and I decided that we wanted to go out to Jak Park and back. Amanda was out down the dempster tonight, so she didn't come. Jak Park, which is a camp ground, is approximately 3.5km out of town. Adjala and I jogged prolly 1.5km out to Jak Park and then on the way back we jogged about 2km. I am so extremely proud of myself, 7km and I'm not dead! Tonight this jog/walk was also a very good reminder of why I am quitting smoking! That in it's self is a completely different topic...but I am doing really well and have cut down so much! I have set a quit date and a start date for the patch! On May 29th, I will be starting the patch and not smoking! I hope everyone is hoping for the best, just as I am! Anyways, tomorrow I really hope I will still be able to walk and not drop dead..otherwise the bypass, a road that goes behind the town, about 2.5km, is really going to hurt! I will update everyone about the smoking situation later on! 2 days of working out down...only like 12 weeks, and 25-30lbs to go!

Already...?

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/4562.aspx</trackback:ping>
So, I've been home for one week and one day..and it's already been enough. I forgot how extremely petty the people are in this town and how much friggin drama goes on. Everyone thinks that they should be part of your business and then apparently it becomes the whole town's business...ridiculous. Other factors, such as nothing to do but work, the yuckiness of the snow melting, the garbage all over the place, the needless amounts of gossip, and all the questions by every second person. Whether it be about school, or my year, or what I'm doing back in town or where I'm working, you can only answer the same questions a handfull of times before it becomes utterly annoying. So I still have 14 and a half weeks left and I am already ready to leave...I wonder how my summer is going to go?!?! Hopefully it will go by really really fast so that I can go back to civilization. If anyone has any new ideas to help me make the days go by faster...please leave a comment, because lord knows I could use the help!

Back Home...

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/4423.aspx</trackback:ping>
Well everyone, I arrived back home in Inuvik this afternoon. The plane ride was the same as usual, I slept like the entire way and there weren't very many people on the flight. When I got off the plane I thought, after like 15 minutes, I was going to die, and it was only -12 today. I am looking forward to being home, but there is sooo much snow. I thought that when I was home at christmas time, there was lots of snow, clearly I was wrong. I will give the snow some what of a break because today it was melting somewhat and with like 18 hours of sun it should melt away pretty quick. It was very nice to see my mom and my dad together. I haven't seen my mom since christmas so it was really nice to give her a hug. I have seen my dad quite a few weekends since christmas. I am also really excited to go back to work at the town with the day camp but I don't start work there until the 23rd, of May, so until then I will be at the drugstore. I am looking somewhat forward to it although with the drugstore comes plenty of drama queens, and a lot of back talking, not to mention lazy people who don't do a thing all day long. Oh well, not much I can do! Anyways just thought I would let everyone know I was home safely, so I will be on MSN all summer, as well I have my cell phone although I prolly won't be using it that much. So I will talk to everyone soon and have a wicked summer!!

All done

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/4351.aspx</trackback:ping>

Well, as of Monday I was done all my classes for the semester! YEAH! I survived another year in Edmonton, doing a new thing, but none the less, in Edmonton! I will be flying home on Monday May 1st, and I honestly cannot wait. It's always an exciting time when you get to go back to your home town and spend some time there. I will be working as the daycamp coordinator again this summer, and now that I am a little more experienced with the job, I'm hoping I will have an easier summer this year.

Since yesterday I have been packing up all my belongings here at residence, and am starting to get everything together so that I will be able to be out of here on Saturday for my check-out time. You never really know how much stuff you actually have until you go through it and need to fit it all into a limited number of containers. I bet anyone can tell you that they don't think they have that much stuff...well you just wait until they pack it all up. I have given some of my old clothes to Goodwill and will be giving some of my non-perishable food items, that I don't like, to the food bank. That will help me out little, as well as the people it will be going to!

I'm very excited to be done all my classes and not have to worry about anything for at least a week. I wish anyone who is still writing exams the best of luck and anyone who is doing summer classes just the same!

Disapperance...

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/4245.aspx</trackback:ping>

It's been a long time. I have been extremely busy in the last two months. But I will give everyone a brief update here, just so y'all know I'm still alive:)

March 17th - Gone to Calgary for a Reggio exhibit! This is a school in Italy that uses different techniques towards teaching. It was quite interesting!

March 18th - Calgary ZOO!! So much fun, it was kind of a cold day but it worked out okay and we had a ton of fun! I couldn't believe how many animals were inside, elephants, monkeys, giraffes...you name it, it was inside!

March 20th - Field Placement began! I was placed in a baby room, 10-18months old, at Canada Place. The babies are extremely cute and really awesome but it was hard for me because they are really hard to plan for. You can obviously do experiences with them but, it is pretty hard to pick just the right ones. Tomorrow is actually my last day at placement. A whole 5 weeks later, and the main reason I haven't posted in so long.

March 31st - Supper with my dad. He was off to San Fransico again and he was in Edmonton for the night, and I was just lucky enough to have my brother at a LaCrosse game so I go to have supper with just my Dad. It was really nice! Thanks Dad!!

April 1st - Daylight savings. I had two people late for work the next day and one that just didn't show up!

April 9th - Last day of work for Rexall in Edmonton, until September! Thank You Bamboo!

April 12th - First RA Meeting for next year. I got to meet all my new team mates, and they all seem really pumped and excited for next year, just as I am!! Except there's this one creepy girl...Kerry you know who you are;)

April 13th - Megan's birthday at the Thirsty Turtle...good times...and Denny's afterwards for well deserved food. It was a good night. Happy Bday Megan.

April 14-17th - Out to the Lake for Easter! I went out to my cabin at Goose Lake for the weekend. Luke was there for one night and then it was just family. I chopped down some trees with my Papa, Widdled two walking sticks...very pretty, went out in the bush and checked out my Uncle Dave's bear bait...nothing there, sat by the campfire, played nickel me, score 176..woo woo, and had an awesome turkey dinner, thanks Gram!

Tomorrow is my last day of placement, so no more prep, no more reflections, no more school...until Sept!! I'm very excited to be done this year. Next week is going to be busy though, I have to go and buy some bins, I am packing up all my stuff and storing it for the summer as I have to be out of my room at Residence until August. Fortunately they are letting me store my stuff here at res so I don't have to take it very far. I have to be out of res by 1:00pm on April 29th, so I hope I have enough time for everything. I am then flying back to Inuvik on May 1st, to work for the summer. I don't start at the daycamp until the 29th of May so I will be working at the drugstore in Inuvik until then. It will be a busy but hopefully FUN summer! I will have much more time to post so I will be talking to y'all soon!
