The letter was signed by the acting chair of the Early Childhood Development Program. I am extremely pleased with myself, although I am a little dissappointed with my GPA, it fell .2 points from the first semester. I am very happy and will work even harder next semester!

I have mainly theory based courses this term as apposed to last term where most of my classes involved art and expression. None the less, I will take them for what they are worth and I plan on having just as much effort and vigor to get through the semester with excellent marks again! I wish everyone the best this semester and remember to eat, drink coffee, play a little and get sleep! It's just another stone in the path to excellence! Listen to me being all philosophical..regardless, make the best of it!

Grant MacEwan

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/1508.aspx</trackback:ping>

Its the start of another school year and today is actually my second day of classes. Everything so far has been just information about the courses, and getting things organized with the instructors and yourself. Yesterday I bought my books, paid my tuition, got my student ID and made some new friends. I am pretty excited and a little scared at the same time. In one of my classes, our first assignment is a FOUR PAGE essay. I have never written a four page anything in my life. This worries me a little, but I'm sure that I'll be okay.

This year I'm also living in the brand new Grant MacEwan Residence and so far it's awesome. I am almost all unpack and set up for the year. I still have some things that I would like to put up on my walls so it's no so bare, but as of right now, I haven't found the time. In my “apartment” or dorm if you will, there are two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchenette and a dining area. Its actually really neat, because I have my own space but I also get the experience of living with another person who isn't a family member or someone I already knew. You can go to Mack's site and see pictures here.

Well here's to another school year, and for anyone else in school...have a fantastic year, and never forget that alcohol, coke and staying up all night solve every problem;)

Chocolate vs. Marijuana

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/374.aspx</trackback:ping>

Did you know, that if you sit and and eat 25 lbs of chocolate..doesn't matter what kind, its like smoking a joint?!?! Crazy eh!?! Anandamide is in chocolate acts like the THC which is in contained in Marijuana. This stimulates dopamine in your brain and gives you the feeling of being high. So to smoke a joint or not?! For all of you who do, just sit and eat 25 pounds of chocolate...it'll give you the same effect and you can't get charged for possession. Oh biology class...you learn something new everyday.

Update - Child Care-Level 1

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/354.aspx</trackback:ping>

Yesterday's class was pretty cool. All we did was an introduction into the course, and explored the different things that we will encounter. Like for instance Standardized First Aid, 2-25 Hour Practicums, in-class work, as well as a section labelled “family issues.” It looks like everything is straight forward at this point, and I'm very antixous to start actually getting into things. The course only runs for 6 weeks, so its not that long, but when I come out of it, I will have a certificate to work in most daycares, as an assisstant in any preschool and I will also have my first aid certificate. Exciting, and Hey Mom....I could come and work for you;)

Departmentals

<trackback:ping>http://kimberly.eclecticblogs.ca/services/trackbacks/256.aspx</trackback:ping>
Tomorrow is the last day of Departmental exams for me. Today I wrote Chemistry, and much to my surprise it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. That or I was well prepared. Tomorrow I write Math, I'm not looking forward to it, but I think I will do okay. I have been studying like 100 hours a day to prepare for it and for my Chem. In the morning I write the written part of it and in the afternoon I write the multiple choice and numerical response part of it. Im ready and my brain hurts from all the studying...but I look at it this way...I DONT want to fuck up again!!! It will all be worth it in the end. And Departmental...your gonna get OWNED!!!!
